Installing Moneydance

Thank you for choosing Moneydance to organize your finances. To install Moneydance, please follow these steps:

1. Insert the CD-ROM into your computer 2. If the installer does not start automatically, double-click the "Install Moneydance" icon from the CD-ROM drive 3. Follow the instructions presented in the installer and choose where you would like Moneydance to be installed

Now that Moneydance is installed, you can start it by selecting it from the "Start" menu.

The first screen that is presented after starting Moneydance provides three options:

  1. Create New File: Select this option to start a new data file with the default set of accounts and categories
  2. Open Existing File: Select this option to open an existing Moneydance data file
  3. Import File: Select this option if you would like to create a new data file using information from a QIF file that was exported from an application such as Quicken or Money

Once you have selected an option and opened your data file in Moneydance, you will see the "home page" screen with a summary of your accounts, exchange rates, scheduled transactions stock prices, and common functions. Descriptions of the features available are available from the user guide available under the Help menu.
