Description (Last modified by Ash)

Hello,

I recently, within the last week, upgraded to the latest and greatest. Everything was good until I downloaded buys from my Fidelity Netbenefits 401k. First, MD was completely missing the security name for each fund, even though I have been downloading the same fund buys for about a year now. It seems MD was only getting the last four characters from the string. Second, after I managed to get the transaction download work out I tried to save and received the error message "Error saving file: java.lang.NullPointerException". Oh no! I just realized that several of my investment accounts are now completely GONE, including the Fidelity account. I guess I can go back to yesterdays snapshot...

Using Fedora 6 and Java Version: 1.5.0_11 Java Vendor: Sun Microsystems Inc.

Same error, similar circumstances, different distribution.

Debian Etch. Sun Java 1.5.0_10-b03

I get the same error linking to Fidelity Netbenefits. The result is that I cannot save at all. Since I just started to import data this is just an annoyance, but I did basically lose 2-3 hours work importing. Starting from a brand new file and just setting up Fidelity it's an issue.

Further investigation indicates that the file or memory structure of the current session was corrupted when I was downloading recent transactions from Fidelity Netbenefits. It seems Fidelity changed the format of the OFX file and MD assumed that the transactions involved new securities. Unfortunately, since MD was only giving me the last four or so characters for each security, which turned out to be just the fund numbers with no indication of the fund name, I had to click cancel on the new secuities dialog until I could sort things out. I think this might be where the trouble started.

Can you try this again with Moneydance 2008?
