I think the issue is having multiple files open simultaneously, as most
word processors allow.
That would be very nice, but the trick is to keep everything separately
associated to the correct file.
I know that theoretically, a second instance of a program is
automatically separate in most OS's but there are many opportunities for
error. The most likely is user error when user forgets which file
currently has the focus.
Just for grins, I have tried opening one file with MD release 622 JAR
and another with MD release 587 JAR simultaneously without seeing any
smoke coming out of the computer. However, I have not thoroughly tested
that scenario.
