Well, java 1.6.0.05 doesn't print for me. Now what version of java would you
suggest MD ship with so it works for both of us?

There are a lot of linux ND users and actually few printing complaints. If it
were simply the java version, I would expect much more noise.

I'm no linux expert, I've only been using it 8 years or so. Printing with
java seems to require a version of java, ghostscript, cups, and who knows
what else that 'play nice' together. Some seem to have that and some don't.
The only java version I have that seems to work right now is 1.4.2.17. Every
time a new version of java, cups, or ghostscript comes out for my distro of
choice, I point MD to my system defaults to see if it works. It's been
roughly a year since that worked for me.

When you find that MD doesn't print, I think you will find that no java
program will print. If I'm going to start pointing at folks, I'm going to
look to Sun and java first. It should 'just work' as far as printing is
concerned.
