[moneydance] "No print service found."

I just installed Moneydance 2008(606) on a clean install of Mepis 7.0 64bit
(Debian Etch based) Linux.
When trying to print anything from Moneydance, I get "No print service
found."

I read in the Moneydance blog that printing was fixed for Linux if you use
the installer with java. Apparently this is not an accurate statement as I
used the installer file that includes java, moneydance_linux_x86wj.sh

I have search the mailing list archives and found the following suggestions.

The version of java installed on the system is "Java(TM) SE Runtime
Environment (build 1.6.0-b105)
I tried renaming the jre folder in ~/moneydance/ to md-jre, then linking the
jre folder from /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/ to ~/moneydance/. I get "No print
service found."

I tried creating the file /etc/cups/client.conf with one line "ServerName
localhost". I get "No print service found."

I tried creating a link /usr/lib/libcups.so to /usr/lib/libcups.so.2. I get
"No print service found."

I did not try the steps found on the site:
http://www.bastian-frank.de/site/front_content.php?idcat=13&idart=46
as it states: "*Be careful: This articles does not describe the bug that
gives "no print services found" or similar in Java in combination with CUPS
>=1.2.*"
