Reconciled items simply mean you have identified the "item" and verified
thet it is correct. Then you mark it "Reconciled"

Since you create any accounts you want, you can make one for "Mortgage"
or anything you want.

I suggest different accounts for different countries as you will have to
do different monetary structures in most cases.

I would comment that Moneydance is NOT and accounting system and your
mileage will vary if you try to use it as one. I use MD as a banking
interface for my personal and business transactions but the recordes are
then transferred into SQL-Ledger for the real book-keeping functions. I
have done this for seceral years and with Sean & company's dedicated
assistance I am very pleased with the result. I was able to do what I
needed with out using any Microsoft products.
