I get a QIF from my bank. I have entered transactions that I expected
and used the future date most appropriate. Most of my QIF data will
match. I would prefer to be able to replace the existing record with
the downloaded data (as automatically reconciled).
The new import is an improvement since there is only one dialog at a
time and existing account is defaulted instead of new account.
cool! ;) Luckily my top account is the correct one don't know if
default can be configured. Best would be to use the current open
account (say I'm viewing savings then import QIF should default to
savings)
Choose File To Import should save its size. I *always* must drag it
larger. And scroll down to the bottom. isn't date/descending a more
logical default?
Switches from savings to checking where match was found. cool! (new
window. well, that's not my preference)
Record no longer enters a new transaction. To me that is severely
non-intuitive. It's showing me the matched item. It is not a duplicate
in this case. New button? Record/Replace/Delete would be my preference
in buttons and actions (keyboard accessible too).
***If I hit Done there seems to be a bug where the transactions are kept
someplace. Without recording or deleting any of the downloaded
transactions. If I import the same file the transactions show
duplicated. They do not show in the register at this point. Build 601.
Deleting one entry deletes duplicates.
**nasty habit of finding the bottom most transaction in the register.
sort is date descending so that my recent are at the top.
I tried Alt-N, Ctrl-N, Right-Click, etc to try to make marking these
as-New easier. Couldn't find any magic here. One time pressing just
the N key worked but not for the second transaction. Still, it would be
nice to have Replace for the probable planned transactions. (N never
worked again even after restarting MD)
***it's not marking QIF New transactions as reconciled
Going back to stable.
