What you're missing is that Jython is already built into Moneydance.
Or, more likely, the Python Scripting Interface plugin. Just go to
Moneydance's Extensions / Add menu and install the plugin. Once it's
installed you should find an interface for running python (actually
jython) scripts with the Moneydance objects already precreated and
useable by your script. Apparently there is also a console available
within Moneydance, but I have not used it myself.
I think the best way to go is to pick up some of the sample Moneydance
scripts available, and then pick them apart to see how they work.
Couple it with the documentation on moneydance.com about the Java
objects and their methods, and I think you'll be off and running.
