First, support for ofx and qif does not necessarily mean that the bank  
supports direct, on-line connection. Sometimes even Quicken uses a  
'web connect', which really just downloads a file using a browser  
connection and then imports it. MD won't do this ('web connect')  
automatically, you would download the file from the bank's web site  
and then import it to MD.

I've never done it myself, but if Quicken does actual 'direct'  
connection for your bank, you can look in the Quicken connection logs  
somewhere and glean the information needed to set up MD to do the  
'direct' connection. Banks usually charge extra for this ability,  
presumably because they have to pay Intuit more to offer it.
