[moneydance] Envelope Budgeting/Category Balances...

That's the claim I've heard about the Envelope system, that it is more
proactive. I'm not 100% sure I buy into it, but the immediate input of
seeing it right there on the main screen is a point well taken.
Of course that means I'm waffling again between using categories and sub
accounts. I'll sleep on it a bit more. I have some cleanup to do on my
Quicken data I imported. Somewhere along the line Quicken introduced
some "features" that caught me off guard. When I imported into
Moneydance I discovered some garbage. Not critical to cleanup probably
but somewhat offensive all the same.
Thanks for the input...

You plan out where your money is going to go in advance, instead of trying to figure out where your money went to in hindsight. It kind of forces you to stay on top of where your money is going. The main reason I used the budget reports previously was to make sure I wasn't going over a budgeted amount. Now I know instantly, so no more need for the report.
