[moneydance] Help with crashes

Hi. I have just purchased MD after reading many favorable reviews.
Unfortunately, it crashes on me every time I want to record a
transaction. Just crashes and closes. It's on a laptop running Ubuntu
7.10. 

I have installed it another partition on the same machine running on
Vista and it seems to work just fine. I don't use Vista much though. 


What am I missing? Thanks for any help.
