[moneydance] Investment account Issue

For issue 1 it may be that your transactions weren't imported to a
true investment account. It might actually be some other kind of
account. I don't know, its just a guess.
For issue 2 you'll need to create a new expense category titled
"Beginning Balance" or something like that and expense the initial
shares there. IIRC this is actually what Quicken does, though it may
not allow you to see that special expense category.
And as to converting from Q Mac to Moneydance... It has been years
since I did it. I remember how all of the accounts and data weren't
perfect. Stick with it and keep fixing the data. You'll get there
and when you do it will be well worth it.
Good luck
