When you install and/or run Moneydance, you need to turn off compiz
(Desktop Effects). For whatever reason, Java apps don't get their windows
painted like they should. If you're using fusion-icon or compiz-manager
or something similar, there should be an icon in your task bar that lets
you switch to a different window manager temporarily (metacity, etc). (If
you don't have such an icon, and you're running the gnome desktop, open a
terminal and do "metacity --replace &". That will switch you to the gnome
metacity window manager. When you're done, you can get compiz back by
"compiz --replace &".)
