[moneydance] Liability (Loan) Not presenting expected options

I am running 2007r5 (584)

Loans do not appear to be functioning correctly.  When I am displaying  
the account, the actions give me no options for scheduling payments.   
Have I done the setup on it incorrectly, or how can I fix this?  The  
documentation has not been much help.  A search of the Moneytalk did  
not turn up any meaningful threads.  Appreciate any input.
