Hopefully you have your old /home directory with its  .moneydance 
directory. Copy that to your new distro and all should be well.  The 
registration number is in config.dict.
I do this pretty regularly since I am one of those idiots who has to 
try out many new distros.

I just make a symlink named [ jre ] in the moneydance  directory to 
where ever you installed Java.  In my case it is 
to  /opt/jre1.5.0_07.  You could also create a JAVA_HOME environment 
variable I believe.
