[moneydance] Investment download category assignment

Is there any way to get MD to make sensible assignments of 
categories on downloaded investment transactions?

Typical transactions are Dividend payment, Sell and Buy. MD 
seems to assign the account's 'default category' to each--if I 
set it to 'Dividend income', then sell/buy commissions default 
to 'Dividend income'. If I set it to 'Commissions' then 
Dividends default to 'Commissions'.

This makes no sense. Do I have to manually correct half the 
transactions I download? Surely there is a way to have MD use a 
sensible category for e.g. Dividends, so I can set the fee 
category to 'Commissions' without having to change every 
Dividend transaction? I can't believe this is how MD is supposed 
to work.
