It was on January 1, 2000 that I discovered that the 1998 version of Q/Mac 
was not Y2K compatible. The 1998 version!

Just sheer, blathering incompetence. Not the individual programmers, who 
are probably quite good. Corporations evince emergent effects: they do 
things that no individual in the corporation desires. It's obviously true 
of Microsoft, and probably true of Intuit also. But that doesn't change the 
fact that the corporation is incompetent.
