[moneydance] OS X: "Cannot launch Java application"

I've been using Moneydance daily for years, and this is the first time
I've seen this.
Tonight (06/06/07) I tried to open Moneydance, and the following alert
popped up just a couple of seconds after the splash window appeared:
Cannot launch Java application
Uncaught exception in main method:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/moneydance/
apps/md/view/gui/help/HelpFrame
There is only a Quit button in the alert.
Since I can't get the application to open, I can't tell you the exact
build number (the Finder Get Info dialog for MD doesn't include any
version info!). But I got a notice for a new version just a night or
two ago, it seems like, and installed it. My update option is set to
alert me about Preview versions, and I usually install them as soon as
I get the notice (maybe not so much in the future). I'm running on an
iMac G4 800 with OS X 10.4.9.
I tried a "Safe Login", but that didn't help. I did a normal Restart,
and that didn't help.
Before I go to bed, I'm going to restart again in single-user mode and
start AppleJack to do a deep clean of the system, and I'll see in the
morning if it makes any difference.
The next step, if that doesn't help, will be to download the latest
version from the web site and try re-installing. I'd appreciate it if
someone would post the URLs for the latest release version and last
couple of preview versions -- all of my recent downloads have been via
the built-in updater, so I'm not sure where to find them on the
Moneydance site.
The only notable things I've done to my system, possibly since the
last MD update, was to install the new versions of Adobe Reader (8.1),
Peek-a-Boo (2.6.5), Apple.com Daily Special (1.57) (widget), and BOINC
(5.8.17).
I haven't seen any other reports of this on this list, so I'm
presuming its something squirrelly in my system. If anyone has any
other suggestions, I'll take a look at them in the morning.
Thanks.
