Well I've tried all of the following:
Sun Java 5.0 that is version 1.5
Sun Java 6.0 that is version 1.6
Blackdown that is (I think) version 1,4
The Sun Java jre are "architecture independent" and the bin are "architecture
dependent", Blackdown, I believe, is 32 bit.
I've also tried it with no Java installed.
When I run moneydance_linux_x86wj.sh, in all cases I get:
./moneydance_linux_x86wj.sh: 217: bin/unpack200: not found
Error unpacking jar files. Aborting.
I also get that message running moneydance_linux_x86.sh with Java version 1.6
installed.
However, in all of the other cases when running moneydance_linux_x86.sh, it
says: "No suitable Java Virtual Machine could be found on your system.
Do you want to download a JRE? (y/n)", which I do and it downloads Java
successfully and begins its process only to end with, you guessed it:
./moneydance_linux_x86.sh: 217: bin/unpack200: not found
Error unpacking jar files. Aborting.
It's got to be something really simple that I'm just "not getting". I've been
three days without Moneydance and my finances are calling for attention. I
may have to dust off Windows and run that version of Moneydance, although
that seems to be a lot of work for the ability to use one program.
If anyone has any other suggestions, I'm all ears. By the way, I am most
grateful to everyone who has taken the time to provide advice. I have
certainly paid attention to all of it. One thing I must say, this is
probably the best forum for help that I have every been part of.
Thanks again,
Lawrence
