There is now an official Moneydance 2007 release (not a beta). That is
what the new updater was telling you about (the old updater couldn't
see the 2007 betas or official release).
But nothing says you must upgrade to 2007 immediately. I did, because
I've always had good experiences with Sean's betas and new releases,
and I backup my data file to my .mac daily. But being cautious is
probably a good thing. Keep an eye on the discussion list until you
are comfortable with upgrading, then do it.
And AFAIK the upgrade is no charge. At least, I haven't been asked for
any money yet. You very well may have to download the first 2007
version manually (IIRC that's the way I got the 2007 betas).
