[moneydance] Cash Transactions

I use a single currency for everything. I have several Bank accounts
and a single Cash asset account. The Cash account basically represents
cash I have in my wallet. When I withdraw cash from an ATM, I enter a
transaction in the appropriate Bank account register to move x dollars
from that Bank account into my Cash account, which decreases the Bank
account balance and increases the Cash account balance by that amount.
I don't attempt to track EVERY cash expenditure I make. Those that I
do, I enter in the Cash account register using the appropriate
category. At the end of the week, I compare what is actually in my
wallet with the balance in my Cash account. Then I enter a transaction
in the Cash account register to adjust its balance to match my wallet,
assigning it to my Miscellaneous Expenses category.
Of course, my system doesn't keep track of which ATM withdrawal each
of my cash expenditures comes from. I'm a little curious about why one
would want to do that.
