In my personal experience, the download from the bank usually contains a
lot of info that I don't need, such as references to their internal
records. Thus I can tell at a glance whether a particular entry was
manual or downloaded. To me, I want to differentiate between records
that matched to downloaded bank records and those that did not match
before I do a paper based reconcile. Those that did not may be
duplicates or mistakes. After the paper reconcile, I no longer care.
