[moneydance] problem with Auto-Create New Transactions in beta Moneydance (555)

Just before I sent the original message, I reproduced the behavior just to
be sure I would have my facts straight.
After turning the Auto-Create New Transaction preference on, I entered a new
transaction in a bank account register by using cmd-N and then entering some
data (cmd-N always creates a new transaction with the current date as the
default). When I used cmd-R to record that transaction, MD auto-created a
new transaction with the 12/31/2007 date.
I want to reiterate that cmd-N always produces a transaction with the
current date (actually the date when the MD app was started, a distinction
noticeable when I work through midnight, and I'm fine with that).
I believe this worked correctly at one time, but I turned off the preference
a year or so ago when MD started providing unusable default dates in
auto-create transactions (I don't recall if this is exactly the same
behavior as then, though). So this probably isn't something that just popped
up in this beta
Thanks for your reply.
