What does "which moneydance" tell you? What about "which Moneydance"?
Try "Moneydance" instead of "moneydance" (i.e. capital "M"). At least on my
installation that's the name of of the script you should use to start
Moneydance.
How do you usually run moneydance?
Generally, until you eliminate that option, it looks like some shell path or
command name problem.
