Are you using the version of moneydance that was bundled with a Java
runtime, or are you using the runtime on your system? A lot of
distributions of Linux have a nasty habit of shipping the GNU JRE, which
is useless as far as I can tell. So while it may say it's Java, I've
never seen it run anything. Removing that and installing a real JRE
(from Sun, IBM, or Blackdown) should fix the problem.
You can check what version of Java you have with "java -version".
Just a thought.
