[moneydance] Curious Expense/Income Issue

While entering a deposit for dividends in my wifes savings account, I
noticed that the value showed up in both the expense and income bars.  Since
it was a direct deposit and not coming from another account, why did it show
up as an expense?  Dividends is configured as an income category.  I am just
puzzed as to why it would show up as an expense.
