[moneydance] JAVA Issue: I need help

I encountered today a error pop up from MD that 
says   "ERROR:Java,lang,NullPointerException". This message occurred when I 
attempted to open my 'bankofchoice.md'  encrypted file
I recently upgraded my Debian Linux to the new stable OS. I have not 
subsequently run MD. If someone can tell me what the error message means I 
can most likely figure out what to do, but I will appreciate any suggestions.
