It looks to me like it is trying to use the GNU java interpreter which is not
100% last I knew. You should get Sun's JVM and set it as the default. There
are instructions on the Ubuntu forums that should work for Kubuntu, too.

Subject: [moneydance] Need some help re-installing MD

My Kubuntu computer crashed and I loaded and updated Kubuntu on a new
disk. Now I'm having trouble getting MD running again.

I downloaded both the installation shell script
moneydance_linux_x86.sh
and moneydance.jar.gz for version 5.31.

When I run the shell script I get the following errors and there is no
moneydance directory in /usr/local or anywhere else.

root at kinda dl # ./moneydance_linux_x86.sh
Starting Installer ...
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax.swing.JOptionPane
    at java.lang.Class.initializeClass(libgcj.so.7)
    at com.install4j.runtime.installer.Installer.reportExeption(Unknown
Source)
    at com.install4j.runtime.installer.Installer.main(Unknown Source)
    at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(libgcj.so.7)
    at com.exe4j.runtime.LauncherEngine.launch(Unknown Source)
    at com.install4j.runtime.Launcher.main(Unknown Source)

I suspect that MD is having trouble finding Java but there is a one
installed by Kubuntu in /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.4.2-gcj-4.1-1.4.2.0/jre.

Can anyone tell me what dumb thing I've done _this_ time?

Larry
