[moneydance] Some startup questions

Move the .md file to where you want it (using Windows Exploder or other 
software outside MD). In MD, open the .md file. MD will remember the 
location. Note that there's also a preference for "separate backup folder". 
"Working directory" is not a generally recognized concept under Windows, 
and even Java doesn't defy that. Best I remember, that's all the data files 
you need to be concerned with in MD.

Well, first, make sure you have a good divorce attorney on retainer. A 
better one than hers.

Seriously, what's the point? Why not just take a known current point, set 
the balance then as the initial balance, and move forward? Sure, some of us 
like to have those loose ends tied up. But is there any real value in that 
for her? Wouldn't you rather that she start reconciling statements now, 
rather than being so overwhelmed with six years of statements that she 
never starts at all?

Even more -- if she writes five checks a month and hasn't reconciled her 
account in 6+ years, what makes you think she's going to start now?

OK, final advice: consider your marriage first, and accounts and statements 
at a much lower priority.
