Well Claude, I'm glad you know what the problem is.
Unfortunately, I don't use a laptop and I don't use Ubuntu- although
I'm just starting to trial it to see if it's suitable for people with
little computer knowledge. I did a fair bit of research to try and fix
my printing problems, and I remember that as one issue that was
mentioned.
Does Ubuntu use CUPS for printing? If so you can set up your two
printers through the web interface using a normal browser. Just type
http://localhost:631/printers into the location bar.
I'm surprised that you can't set up two different ISPs in the dial-up
system. Again I don't use dialup so I have no experience.
