Jeanne,
In most windoze programs, holding down the Ctrl key while pressing the
return key sends a newline character instead of the CR character(which
technically is supposed to just go to the beginning of the same line) to
the program. This usually gives the effect that you want, namely, not
exiting from the text entry field.
