[moneydance] Still crashing on reconcile

OK, now I'm up a creek. My MD is still crashing whenever I try to
reconcile using my PB G4 running J2SE 5.0 (update 4, the most
recent). I've done all maintenance I can think of to the laptop
(permissions are repaired regularly, all Unix maintenance, and I
rebuilt the directory with Disk Warrior). I've tried telling Java to
run J2SE 1.4.2 instead. I've thrown out the com.moneydance.plist file
whenever the crash happens and restarted the computer. The crash
happens the instant I click on a transaction in the reconcile window
(the beach ball appears right away, and then MD just quits within 1-2
seconds).

My G5 was running fine using the exact same data file. My big problem
is that I decided to let the G5 update Java today, thinking that the
problem must be with the laptop somehow. Well...the exact same thing
happens. I even redownloaded MD from the website and reinstalled on
the G5. Any other ideas are sorely needed. I suppose I could run MD
on one of my husband's PCs, but I REALLY don't want to.

Items #540, 550, and 578 on trac.moneydance.com all refer to a
similar problem (so I didn't post my own). If a crash log would help,
please tell me where to find one (I didn't see an obviously-named one).

Other info, if helpful: both computers are running Mac OS X 10.4.6.
I've tried with MD 526 and 528. I've also reinstalled Java from the
download available from Apple's website (I was hoping to find an
uninstall option to remove 5.0, but found none). I was going to try a
complete system reinstall, but discovered a scratch on my Tiger
install DVD that renders it unreadable.

Thanks,
Katie
