[moneydance] Opening balance is wrong

The opening balance is always set to the Cleared Balance for the
account, which is the amount you get from adding up all the register
items marked as Cleared (check mark).  If your last reconcile was
correct, then the only thing that could change it is that the Cleared
status of some items was changed; maybe some new items were marked
Cleared, or some old items were unmarked.

Perhaps you should redo the old reconcile from the previous statement?
