Good list.

It may also be a CUPS problem.  See

I haven't tried SUSE 10.1 yet, so this may not apply.

I just checked the bug status on the CUPS website, and it now lists the  
bug as "won't fix" and says "This is an issue of the policy stuff -  
-dNOMEDIAATTRS will "fix" the problem, but ultimately it is just that the  
driver/filter you are using isn't handling this properly."   I'm not sure  
where that option is supposed to go, though, or what other implications it  
has.  :-(
