[moneydance] Printing with Suse10.1

The dreaded Printing in linux problem

The most likely cause is a symlink to lpr, lpd or similar has been
removed in the upgrade.

I posted a summary of the issue on this list not long ago. Here is what
I wrote then. I hope it helps


Here are some things to check from my own experience and gleaned from
trawling through posts on the net.

1. check that symlinks in /usr/bin that start with lp* (e.g. lpr, lpd,
lpc) actually point somewhere.

2. Apparently a printer name with parentheses upsets cups so rename
your printer, if this is the case

3. Update java to 1.5

4. Make sure you have the latest version of your distro. Part of my
remediation was an update of debian testing... this may have been one
of the factors which fixed the problem.

5. For some reason, even though I've now got reports that print, the
headings never come out.

6. Can you print to file? If so does it actually produce the postscript
file?

7. Just remembered this one... in MD preverences make sure that in the
printing tab you select Java 2. (If that still doesn't work try Java 1)

Hope that one or more of these options resolve your problem. Don't
forget to tell us when you get it sorted what fixed it.
