Thank you so much David.  I changed the online ID, fiddled a bit,
and now finally good old MD is making online payments.

Your precedure of re-running "Set up for online banking" worked perfectly.

I never liked the long string of numbers that they used for my online ID 
so I changed it to 'MyBigBankAccount'.  They'l never guess it ;-)
