Actually, I think it's better to demand the service that we're paying
for. If they're confused, let's help them get un-confused.

I've been having issues lately, too. It used to work just fine, but
now I can download transactions, and after I've sent in one
transaction, I get an error message like "15502 -- your account is
locked" or somesuch. Then, later, I get an email saying that my
online account access was locked because of too many invalid passwords.

The funny thing is that I can still get in just fine on the web side,
so it's not actually locked. (and, even stranger, after quitting /
restarting MD tonight, I was able to schedule one more transaction
even after the 1st lockout error).

So they told me a couple weeks ago (6/20/2006) that "We support
Quicken with direct connect and/or web connect..." and advised me to
use that instead. I responded that MD uses standard OFX protocols,
and so *should* work. I also asked them whether they now supported
direct connect with Quicken Mac (again, just to put the bug in their
ear that, yes Mac users exist, and, yes, we'd like the same level of
service you give to Windows people).

They responded to that message very quickly, with "Sorry you're
having problems with Safari" and provided associated help. :) I tried
again, and then they said that they do not support
"Moneychanger" and also do not support "Quicken for Mac."

Anyway, is it possible that my problems are similar to what others
have had? I've never had to call them to "enable" any kind of online
banking before now, so I'm confused as to exactly what people have
had them do.

And beyond that, is there anything we can do to convince them that
Moneydance does work, and if people call to ask about it, what they
need to do is _XX_ and everything should be fine? (that is, get BoA
to at least recognize MD in their help drone scripts, with the few
things they need to do on their end documented and notes to point users
here for application support)? Has this happened with any other banks?

david.
(has anyone considered creating an FAQ or wiki page (or does one already exist)
for how well different banks support MD, and what to do to make it work,
including both user-side configuration and the magic words to say to technical
support folks at the banks?)
