Your expectation is unrealistic. QIF format does not allow all needed 
information. QIF is Quicken Interchange Format, yet if you export all 
transactions (not even all data) from QUICKEN and import it, you do not get 
the same values.

QIF import/export exists in MD only for dealing with Quicken interchange. 
Don't use it for anything else. It's a broken format. The fact that Quicken 
still uses a broken format as a primary method for data interchange is one 
of the big reasons that a lot of us wanted to get away from Quicken.
