I have never used QIF to do any import or export, but from what I have
read on this list over the years, I guess I wouldn't be too surprised if
it doesn't work.  I believe that the QIF format is insufficient, and
that information is lost with the format.

What exactly do you want to accomplish with the export/import?  If
staying with MD, if you don't want to use the default file format, use
the XML format instead.
