[moneydance] How do I add pre-existing securities to an investment account?

Hello,

I have created an investment account for an IRA. I started this IRA
(from a 401(k) rollover) a few years ago, but I am not using
Moneydance for transactions before the year 2006. The account has six
securities in it. How do I set the initial balance for each of those
securities, meaning the number of shares and value of shares as of 1
Jan 2006? Editing the account only lets me set an overall balance,
not a per-security one.

I can think of an ugly way to do it with faked "buys" of the
securities from a fake account, but it seems there must be a better
way.

Many thanks,

           Jill
