[moneydance] changing default currency

Having moved to a country with a different currency, I'm finding it
awkward to have my base currency be the country where I no longer
live. How do I change the base currency?
Also, how do other people handle the situation of having a significant
financial presence in more than one country? I'm finding myself
thinking of oldcountry and newcountry as two different financial
situations, and I've considered splitting my moneydance information
into OldCountry.md and NewCountry.md. The advantages seem to be
mostly in being able to get reports reflecting different areas of my
life, since at this point some things are split by country (for
example, I currently only give to charity in OldCountry). However, I
don't think that will always be true. Splitting my finances into two
files like that also brings up problems of tracking the times when
money moves from one country to another.
I think writing custom reports for myself would be more valuable in
the long run than splitting my finances, but I'd love to hear other
people's input.
Many thanks,
Jill
