I have a question. What was the reason for separating the account/catagory lists? Also, why was the ability to collapse removed from these? The account/catagory list is a very important tool because it is the only convenient way to access accounts not listed on the home page (such as salary). Thank you.

Hi toddb, The reason was to make the purposes of the accounts more clear and to cater to former users of other finance software that behaves the same way.
The next update to Moneydance will add back the ability to expand/collapse sub-accounts (already finished) and will also probably have a checkbox for including categories in the main account list window. There is one other way to access the category registers from the home page and that is by setting the “show all accounts in popup” option in the preferences. If that is done, the popup account selection at the top left corner of the main window will include income/expense accounts as well as “normal” accounts.
Thanks,
Sean
