Hi jsergeant81,
You can set up extra budget items by clicking the + button in the budget editor window. You can add multiple budget items for the same category and set the start and end dates in order to specify an amount that you would like to budget for a particular period. All items for the same category will be added up for your budget report.

I am trying to use Moneydance to keep track of my budgeting. I am having trouble figuring out how to deal with expenses that do not occur regularly. IE, if you want to buy a new TV, furniture. Is there a way to set up a budget that can be altered month to month to account for such purchases that do not fall within your typical budget. What is the best way to handle these type of transactions in Moneydance? Thanks. Sorry for posting this here, but I do not know how to post it on its own.

Why yes, I see that my name, where it precedes the comment, is indeed a link to my blog. Cool!
But anyway: to see recent posts in all categories, go
to <a href="http://radio.weblogs.com/0149758" rel="nofollow">http://radio.weblogs.com/0149758</a>.
To see just the "Personal finance software" category, go to <a href="http://radio.weblogs.com/0149758/categories/personalFinanceSoftware" rel="nofollow">

Please feel free to leave a link. I think your name is already linked to your blog, but feel free to add another. I have enjoyed reading a good bit of your blog/site.

Cheers,

I'm doing my bit, in my own blog, to spread the news, about this special event, and about Moneydance in general. Is it okay to attempt to put a link to my blog here? Don't want to abuse the hospitality of this site by doing it without permission.
